Having a suitable camping tent often increases enjoyment while camping. While there are many types of tents currently available, some of the most popular include A-frame tents, dome tents, and backpacking tents. Below are some of the common types of camping tents that are easy to build, light, and durable:
1. The A-frame Tent - While one of the most recognizable tents, it isn’t currently the most popular, though it has certain benefits in the right situation. It is the heaviest of the three tents, requiring sturdy poles on each end to maintain the iconic shape. The main benefit of this style of tent is its ability to keep out the rain and snow, as there is no surface for water to pile up.
2. The Dome Tent - This type of tent has long thin poles that surround the outside which create its iconic dome shape. This style of tent is lighter than the A-frame and easier to set up. It is also more comfortable to sit in since it has space at the bottom and top of the tent. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for windy environments.
3. The Backpacking Tent - Due to its need to be both extremely lightweight and durable, this is the most expensive tent of the three. This is especially considering that most of these styles are only meant for one to two people. However, it is easy to set up and pack away for backpacking trips.
